Country Club Historic Home Complete Remodel
Longley Interiors started working with this client when they moved into an amazing historic home in the Phoenix Country Club. Built in the 1920’s, the house has a ballroom for entertaining, a speak easy bar in the basement, a billiard room, a large formal dining room, an office with stained glass windows, a chapel with stained glass windows, a den with a marble fireplace and an elevator that takes you to the second-floor landing. This is a house that was visited by John F Kennedy in the 60’s! It has a cement swimming pool in the backyard, maid’s quarters, a 2-story casita and multiple garages. This house is so unique the family has frequently been asked to host charity fund raisers to help raise money for the homeless.
We started with the drapery in the small dining room at the front of the house. We made the drapery out of a beautiful blue scrolled velvet with silver crystal tiebacks. She loved them, so we spent the next couple years adding drapery to almost every room in the house. Every room was even prettier than the one before. We also installed outdoor drapery on her patio and added cushions, pillows and outdoor rugs. It was amazing to work with her and we had a wonderful time together. She had the vision of what she wanted her dream home to look like and together we made every room sparkle.
